This is a recording of a burmese temple plate bell/gong. My parents bought this instrument for me. It comes from the samples i made whilst making the music for the show 'little leap forward' by horse + bamboo theatre company in 2009.

I couldn't find any real and free glockenspiel sounds,so i recorded my own on my sonor g30 glockenspiel with my cell phone. . . Then i manipulated the samples with cubase. I hope you like them and do whatever you want with them!.

Hitting an old, empty oil drum lost in some old woods in various ways (on my palm, knuckle, with a stick, etc) to make different deep bass noises. Natural reverb since it was in a large open space.

Recordings of 9 ghanaian double bells. Bells are arranged in rising pitch of the bottom bell (from _1 to _9); bottom bell is mared -1 and upper bell marked -2. Dynamic are indicated as pp (very soft, with soft marimba mallet) to ff (loud, with wooden stick).

A high-pitched, metal windchime, sent through some granular processing software. The reel is divided into two, long halves: one with the sound playing forwards and one with it playing in reverse. This means i can easily switch from forward to reverse without tuning issues, simply by applying cv to the morphagene's 'slide' control.

An attempt to make an entire drum kit using only cymbal sounds. Cymbals were pitch-shifted, compressed, equalized, and subjected to other effects in order to make them capable of filling the roles usually occupied by actual drums. The putipu'ù is a percussion instrument used in neapolitan folk music and, generally speaking in the folk music of much of southern italy. (an alternative name is "caccavella". ) the name putipù is onomatopoeia for the "burping" sound the instrument makes when played. The instrument consists of a membrane stretched across a resonating chamber, like a drum. Instead of the membrane being stuck, however, a handle is used to compress air rhythmically within the chamber. The air then spurts audibly out of the not-quite-hermetic seal that fastens the membrane to the clay or metal body of the instrument.

This sound was created artificially. In general, it consists of four main layers. 1. The sound of noise overboard (created from white noise). 2. The sound of clanking of the inner skin synchronously with the sound of wheels (created from white noise). 3. Metallic noise. Created from the sound of bolts shaken in a metal can. 4. Actually the sound of wheels (created from ten sounds of various metal and percussion). A rather complicated equalization was applied, and filtering in several stages. Also, the sum of the sounds is processed by the convolutional reverb.

The chocalho de platinela ('rattle/shaker with little plates') is a large and very loud metal shaker, with jingles similar to a tambourine, mounted in three long rows on an aluminium frame. They are used en masse in samba bands, usually playing a simple but very fast rhythm. A back (towards the body) shake.

Sample of a metallic percussion hit. The sound is quite dark and muffled. I call it underwater drum, because it sounds to me like it's underwater. This sample is tuned to a1 but there is a very dominant overtone at b1, which is the musical interval of a minor second. The source of the sample was the platter of a dismantled hard disk drive, hit with a wooden mallet. It was then pitched down a lot. The sample is almost raw, i just added some slight eq. The sample was intended to be used with a sampler, you may want to add some reverb for this and filter the previously mentioned overtone, when you use it in combination with other tuned instruments. Also, the pitch is probably not perfectly tuned. Microphone: akq perception 120post-processing: pitch manipulation & eq.

Clean, dry recording of a roughly half-filled metal can (the ribbed kind used for most canned food - probably steel, tin, or a blend of the two) containing dry oatmeal being shaken. A variety of forces and speeds were used to create a diverse assortment of sounds. Originally recorded specifically for canned oatmeal sounds, but could easily work for shaken cans containing most kinds of tiny, dry granules such as rice, nuts, grains, etc. A metal can was used for the unique, metallic timbre it produces - a glass jar or plastic container would sound different. Recorded with a behringer xm8500 directly into a steinberg ur22c interface at 48khz, 32-bit float. True 32-bit, not just 24-bit upconverted.

This is a series of sounds created for spitfire audio's make music day 2020 #spitfiremmd2020 it is a plastic drum, a springy pot rack and a big metal chip bin. There are both harmonic and enharmonic sounds here. The bin as a wonderful resonance and a lot of low end. This is a mono recording through a sennheiser 416 and an rme pre-amp. Enjoy!.

Estos samples pueden usarlos libremente y con creatividadese fue mi objetivo primero, el de ensuciarme las manos para conseguir sonidos unicos. . . . .

I was looking for the sound of a hot engine clicking and found just one with lots of background noises. So i decided to build it from scratch in bitwig studio and this is it. The sound starts with fast clicking slowing down. It's not perfect, you can still hear it's made from samples. But as the sound is normally used at low volume, i think i can get away with it. Feel free to add a gate and shape it even further. I may upload an updated version later.

Sound of balinese chimes recorded with tascam dr-60 d mkii linear recorder and pair of akg p120 electret condenser microphones on a stagg smc3 3m xlr cable. Knobs of sensitivity were turned in position of highest sensitivity. Microphones were configured as stereo pair and placed face to face in front of each other in distance of 75cm. Microphones placed on stands. Chimes was held in the hand between mics along the way of sight of them, with smallest bell on the side of right microphone. Recorded afternoon in a bedroom with closed door and windows in a house next to high street. Recorded in 96khz and 24bit. Trimmed and normalized in flstudio edison. Normalization made sample 32bit.

I sampled the bell tree at our church. After seeing how much the instrument costs at the music store, i opted to not buy one. The long version of this moves from left to right, and has the single sample repeat twice. So it begins on the left, has a delayed start in the center, then finally a third repeat starts on the right. Add liberal amounts of reverb, to taste. sigil reel 2: percussion. Created by nathan moody, formatted for use in the make noise soundhack morphagene. This is one of two morphagene reels made from one-of-a-kind handmade electro-acoustic instruments and found objects created by sound designer and musician nathan moody, an outgrowth of his 2018 album, "the right side of mystery. ". This reel is focused on percussive, inharmonic content from found objects and one-of-a-kind handmade instruments including metal table tops, perforated steel gongs, stretched springs, steel tubes, a drum made from packing tape, shakers made of tin cat food lids, and much more. They were struck with rubber mallets, carbon fiber rods, drumsticks, and woolen tympani mallets. They were recorded with a variety of microphones (sennheiser mkh50, dpa 4061, audio-technica at4050, shure sm57 and beta 52a), through awtac channel amplifier and neve 511 preamps. The hits are gritty, raw, and harmonically complex often with long decays, holding up well to varispeed manipulation, decay-tail looping, and filtering. This recording is for people who hate the highlighted high frequencies. An old sabian aax small recorded with a røde m5 mic. I the created two copies of the original recording:1. On the first file i applied low pass at 2 khz and hard compression at -24 db without makeup gain. 2. On the second file i applied high pass at 2 khz and hard compression at -24 db without makeup gain. Then i lowered -2 db all the spectrum except for the band from 3. 5 khz to 9. 1 khz and i applied hard compression at -24 db without makeup gain. I merged the two files. The envelope was very flat due to the compression and thus i reshaped it on wavelab (process > level envelope. . . Or press the "v" keyboard button; draw a natural fade out in steps [non-linear]). The result is a warm crash for people who don't want them loud.

It's a 15-minute long drum improvisation. It contails a lot of different beats and rhythms played so you might cut-out some loops for your needs. The kit has:- single kick- snare- hihat- 3 toms- broken crash that sounds really short- ride. The kit was old and not in perfect condition. I also used my sticks to play on some other part of the drumkit, like metal stand for the crash etc. I also got up and stated running around in a circle hitting sticks together and afterwards hitting drums and cymbals while running around the drumkit. I took my shoes off before i started so you can't hear my footsteps. I didn't use a metronome and i know i don't hold the tempo and it's a bit wiggly sometimes. I think this performace was inspired by band mr. Bungle. I recorded this with zoom h2 handy recorder's front stereo xy mics. It was standing on a table about one meter above the floor. Facing the drumkit and me. It was captured into a 48khz/24-bit wav file, then i trimmed the ends and converted this to flac using audacity. No processing applied, though i think it sounds nicer when you put these effects:. 1. A compressor:-attack: 10ms-release: 50ms-ratio: 2. 5:1-treshold: around -24db2. A reverb:-decay: 1. 5 to 2 seconds-dry: 0db-wet: around -15 db. It amazes me how much energy compression actually adds to drums!. I made this with my podcast (http://unfamusic. Com/fnr/) in mind.
